DEAD HEAD: In Mixing Mode
July 29, 2008Veteran Dutch thrashers DEAD HEAD recently entered the studio to begin recording a new full-length CD, tentatively titled "Depression Tank". Songtitles set to appear on the album include "Firegate", "Less Than Zero", "Murder" and "Pesticide" (a 1989 demo track re-recorded).
Commented the band: "Recording is now entering the mixing stages. We still need to record some leads and vocals, but the rest of the music for 'Depression Tank' is already done and our mixer Robert Slump has already provided some initial mixes for us to judge. So far everything is sounding very promising. The album will contain 11 songs, including the re-recorded version of 'Pesticide'."
"Kill Division", the 1999 classic album from DEAD HEAD, was recently reissued by Displeased Records. The new version of the CD features bonus live material.
DEAD HEAD's current lineup:
Tom van Dijk (vocals, bass)
Ronnie van der Wey (guitar)
Robbie Woning (guitar)
Hans Spijker (drums)
Formed in 1989, DEAD HEAD recorded the "Haatland" (2005) album at Hansen studios in Ribe, Denmark with producer Jacob Hansen (RAUNCHY, INVOCATOR). A 10-inch vinyl EP, "Dog God", featuring two songs from "Haatland", the IRON MAIDEN cover "Total Eclipse" and a re-recording of an older track, was released in 2004 via Fadeless Records.
